讲座摘要
Understanding and modeling dynamic behaviour is fundamental to the development of intelligent autonomous systems capable of operating safely and efficiently in complex real-world environments. A unified perspective on dynamic behaviour, bridging the gap between physical interactions and social interactions will be given. In the first part, we focus on physical interaction modelling, with an emphasis on tyre–road dynamics and vehicle–environment coupling, which are critical for accurate motion prediction and robust control in ground vehicle systems. The second part of the talk explores the extension of dynamic behaviour frameworks to social contexts, where autonomous vehicles must interact with uncertain and dynamic agents such as pedestrians and other vehicles. A series of behaviour models and decision-making algorithms that account for the probabilistic and game-theoretic nature of human behaviour in traffic scenarios will be given. These models aim to enable anticipatory, risk-aware navigation strategies that improve both safety and social compliance.
嘉宾介绍
Dr. Chongfeng Wei is an Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow, where he leads the Interactive Versatile Automation (IVA) research group. His research focuses on the dynamic behaviour of mechanical systems and the modelling and control of complex human–robot–environment interactions, with a particular emphasis on autonomous vehicles. His research has been successfully translated into industrial applications in collaboration with European Nissan and Jaguar Land Rover UK. He has led multiple research projects funded by the European Commission, EPSRC, the UK Department for Transport, and the Royal Society, securing over £1.2 million in total funding. Dr. Wei has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of mechanical systems and intelligent transportation. He has received four international best paper awards and was a finalist for the UKRI AI & Robotics Research Award. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a Senior Member of IEEE.
